Co-op Rules
Membership
- It is the reponsibility of every member of the co-op to be sure you would recommend any potential member before suggesting they notify the chairperson regarding joining.
- Preferably, members live within these broad boundaries in Colorado Springs: north of Cimarron, south of Woodmen, west of Union. Your selection of available babysitters may be limited by your distance from other families in the co-op
- Members will arrange their sitting time using www.babysitterexchange.com.
- Members will check for babysitting requests weekly on www.babysitterexchange.com, more often is encouraged.
Babysitting
- Children will be sitter's main responsibility and will be under his/her constant care. Sitting will normally occur in sitter's home, although other arrangements can be made.
- Sitter may not leave home, transport children in car, or leave children in the care of another without permission of parent, except in extreme emergency.
- No spanking or hitting a child. Any discipline problems should be discussed with the parents.
- Any food allergy/restrictions, medication needs, and/or television watching limits should be given in writing to a sitter to avoid misunderstanding.
- It is advisable that members carry liability insurance, as covered by most homeowners' or renters' insurance policies, to cover the expense of injury or accident to other children in your home.
Credits
- Sitter and parent determine and agree on hours to be reported at the end of each sit.
- No member may accumulate more than 90 credits to the good or fall below 15 credits in the hole, except for extenuating circumstances.
- Members who don't use the co-op four times in a period of three months will be asked to drop from the co-op (under discretion of other members when there is no waiting list, or for extenuating circumstances).
Cancellations
- Cancellations of sit should be made seven hours in advance of sit, if possible.
- If a sitter must cancel, she should make every effort to find a substitute.
